Pupil Leadership

Pupil Leadership

At Bentley West, we encourage our children to take on different leadership roles and responsibilities within school. We believe that all of our children can play an active role in contributing to school life, be it attending Senior Leadership meetings, leading subjects with Teachers or leading by example as Prefects. Our Pupil Leaders are encouraged to contribute by making decisions and positive contributions to life at Bentley West.

We want to provide our children with opportunities to develop their confidence, leadership skills, critical thinking, communication and teamwork abilities so that they can learn to use and apply these skills in their later lives.

Here you can learn about how the different groups make an impact on the school :

School Council

Our School Council empowers children to take ownership of their learning environment and become active participants in the decision-making process. This not only fosters a sense of pride and ownership but also helps to develop essential life skills, such as communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. The School Council at Bentley West Primary School is a platform for our pupils to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns. Elected representatives from each year group come together regularly to discuss issues that matter to the student body, ensuring that the diverse perspectives of our community are heard. Through the School Council, our pupils play an active role in shaping the future of our school. Council members work closely with school leaders to identify areas for improvement and develop practical solutions. Whether it's enhancing the playground equipment, improving the school menu, or organising exciting events, the School Council is instrumental in driving positive change.
