At Bentley West, we encourage our children to take on different leadership roles and responsibilities within school. We believe that all of our children can play an active role in contributing to school life, be it attending Senior Leadership meetings, leading subjects with Teachers or leading by example as Prefects. Our Pupil Leaders are encouraged to contribute by making decisions and positive contributions to life at Bentley West.
We want to provide our children with opportunities to develop their confidence, leadership skills, critical thinking, communication and teamwork abilities so that they can learn to use and apply these skills in their later lives.
Here you can learn about how the different groups make an impact on the school :
Staff that lead our School Council are: Miss Martin
Our senior pupils take on a range of important responsibilities, including:
Representing the school at events and welcoming visitors
Organising and leading assemblies and other school events
Mentoring younger pupils and supporting them with their learning
Gathering feedback from their peers and communicating it to staff
Championing the school's values and encouraging their classmates to uphold them
By taking on these roles, our senior pupils develop valuable leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills that will serve them well as they transition to secondary school and beyond.
Roles on offer for our Year 6 children are: Prefects, Deputy Head Boy/Girl and Head Boy/Girl. Children are expected to apply for these roles by submitting their own application and then get asked to attend an interview with the Head of School and Headteacher.
